2ND NATIONAL CONVENTION ON CIVIL REGISTRATION AND VITAL STATISTICS

PASAY CITY (October 6-7, 2022) – The Philippine Statistics Authority conducted the 2nd National Convention on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics with the theme Improving Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Implementation Strategies through Digital Information, held at the Sofitel Philippines Plaza Manila, Pasay City.

Mrs. Nenita Flores-Ellivera, the Department Head, presented the LCR-Gensan B.E.S.T.S. as one of the finalists in the Most Innovative Registry Office. She further discussed the advanced programs and initiatives the LCR-Gensan did in the city’s civil registry office throughout the year.

Along with her were Mrs. Marlene C. Pelayo, the Assistant Department Head, and Mr. Dexter Imperial, Registration Officer II, who assisted in making the innovations possible. Moreover, Mr. Benjo Emmanuel Sargado was the one who wrote and prepared the project Proposal submitted during the preliminary round.

In conclusion, the Office of the Local Civil Registrar of General Santos City bagged three (3) major awards: 1st Place in the 2021 Outstanding Local Civil Registry Office (Super Extra Large Category); Circle of Excellence Award, for consistently being in the TOP 10 Outstanding LCROs in the past 5 years, and for supporting the programs and activities of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics; and 1st Runner up in 2022 Most Innovative Local Civil Registry Office.
