LCR-GSC SPEARHEADS MDM WORKSHOP


GENERAL SANTOS CITY (OCTOBER 12, 2021) – The Local Civil Registrar’s Office, this city, spearheaded a workshop in the Management of Deceased and Missing Persons (MDM) at Aneeqa’s Beach Resort in Siguel, Maasim, Saraangani Province last Tuesday. 

Through Executive Order No. 31 Series of 2020, City Mayor Hon. Ronnel Chua Rivera issued the MDM  in the City of General Santos in compliance with Memo Circular No. 1R, series of 2016 issued by National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) pursuant to R.A. 10121 (Philippine Disaster Risk and Management Act, 2010). The MDM Team of General Santos City is mandated to monitor the implementation of the measure for the disposition of the human remains of the funeral service facilities and shall report and recommend sanctions for noncompliance of the proper procedure of such facilities or of any person who was tasked by the city government to comply.  Earlier the city created a Task Force for Funeral Homes to be accredited specifically for servicing the expired as suspect, probable, and confirmed COVID 19 patient and establishing a uniform cost of service for funeral services for expired COVID 19 patient.

The workshop was attended byMary Ann C. Tan (CGDH II-CHLMO), Jonathan D. Villano(DJPRH), Dr. Renato Diagan (PMA, President), Rosalinda Delima (CSWDO0, Vilma Demafeliz (DJPRH), and representative of CDRRMO. Nenita F. Ellivera chaired the meeting-workshop as the Team Leader and City Civil Registrar.
