THE INDEFATIGABLE LCR-GSC STAFF

According to Charles W. Eliot’s poem, he wrote that “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” This is true when heavy rain poured in this city the night before Valentine’s Day 2021. Some LCR staff were stranded at the mall waiting for the rain to stop until the wee hours of the morning. Earlier on, the indefatigable workforce started decorating the event venue in preparation for the day’s ahead event. The stage, its elegant backdrop design, the red grand carpeted aisle, railings, tables, chairs, and its covering, were completely arranged by the LCR and GSO staff. Until the unstoppable rain flooded some parts of the city and made transportation impossible. Against all the odds, the staff reported at around 6:00 AM on Valentine’s Day 2021 for this year’s “Kasalan sa Araw ng mga Puso”. Again, on their toes, the staff assigned to various posts performed their duties as planned. Against these challenges, public service is at its best even on a Saturday, a Sunday, or on Valentine’s Day. “There’s no greater challenge and there is no greater honor than to be in public service (Condoleezza Rice).”
